Job Title: Principal Product Manager
Location: Mountain View, CA Hybrid 2 days/week in office
About Us: Witness AI invented intent-based AI security. While legacy tools monitor what users say to AI, we understand what they're trying to accomplish - stopping jailbreaks, data exfiltration, and shadow AI before damage occurs. We provide visibility into how employees and systems use AI - capturing prompts, responses, and agent activity - so security teams can monitor risk, investigate incidents, and enforce guardrails in real time.
The Role: This is a rare opportunity: You'll be the PM defining how enterprises secure their AI adoption in a category that didn't exist 2 years ago. The patterns you establish will become industry standards. The product you ship will protect millions of AI interactions. You will own the AI Firewall product line and work with 2-3 engineering scrum teams to ship products that enterprise customers rely on. You'll drive adoption, increase customer ROI, and serve as the key liaison between field teams and engineering.
What You'll Actually Do
Strategy days: Roadmap prioritization, customer discovery calls with enterprise CISOs and security practitioners, discussing GenAI governance, competitive analysis
Execution days: Sprint planning, rapid prototyping with UX, developing requirements with AI-assisted tooling, real-time trade-offs
Customer days: POC reviews with strategic accounts, analyzing usage metrics and adoption patterns, translating security needs into product requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Product Strategy & Roadmap: Own product strategy and roadmap for AI Firewall. Define where to play and how to win. Drive prioritization based on customer feedback, market trends, and business goals.
Customer & Market Insights: Lead discovery with enterprise CISOs to identify emerging AI risk patterns. Translate their needs into product requirements balancing compliance, usability, and revenue impact.
Execution & Delivery: Drive 2-3 scrum teams through sprint planning, trade-off decisions, and launch milestones.
User Experience: Partner with the UX team to provide detailed user stories and prototypes ahead of development. Ensure clear messaging throughout the product.
Performance Metrics: Define and track key product metrics to measure success and drive continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience: 7+ years in product management; 3+ years in AI or security products.
Proven Impact: Track record shipping products that defined categories or drove significant revenue
Technical Acumen: Can engage in architecture discussions about API design, authentication flows, data pipelines, and security threat models
Customer Credibility: Can hold your own in technical conversations with CISOs, security architects, and enterprise IT leaders
Relentless curiosity: Deep understanding of AI security landscape (prompt injection, jailbreaking, agent risks) with eagerness to stay ahead of emerging threats
Communication: Excellent communicator with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment, with the ability to pivot and adjust priorities as needed.
Why WitnessAI?
Market Leadership: AI-first company with purpose-built platform for AI security - not retrofitted from legacy tools
Customer Impact: Protecting enterprise customers including Global 2000 organizations across financial services, healthcare, and technology sectors
