The Role

As a Data Engineer at Native, you’ll build both streaming and batch pipelines, work with modern cloud data warehouses and databases, and help shape the data modeling and cataloging practices that power the platform.

Key Responsibilities

• As a Data Engineer, you’ll take full ownership of Native’s data foundations — from ingestion to consumption.
• You’ll lead to the design and implementation of data pipelines that ingest, process, and serve data at scale, ensuring reliability, performance, and clear ownership as data volume and sources continue to grow.
• You’ll define and maintain schemas and SLAs, instrument data quality checks and lineage, and continuously optimize storage and processing costs across our cloud environments.
• You’ll work closely with software engineers and products to make sure analytics and data-powered product features scale without becoming a bottleneck.
• And yes — you’ll also jump in as a Support Hero, helping investigate data-related issues and ensuring customers can rely on accurate, trustworthy data.

What We’re Looking For

• You have 6+ years of experience building data pipelines and data platforms at scale
• You have hands-on experience with ETL/ELT workflows, including both streaming and batch processing
• You apply strong data modeling best practices and care deeply about data quality, reliability, and discoverability
• You have experience working with cloud data warehouses and databases
• You enjoy taking ownership end-to-end — from ingestion, through processing, to making data easy to use via catalogs and well-defined interfaces

Collaboration Skills: Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with experience working in cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and backend developers.
