Mimic Networks is a cybersecurity company that enforces a known-good state at the kernel level, blocking unauthorized changes to enterprise systems before they execute. The company's platform profiles a system in its authorized operational state and then evaluates every subsequent change against that baseline at Ring 0. Where detection-based tools ask whether an activity matches a known threat, Mimic asks whether the change was authorized, which does not require identifying the attack. Its Series A was led by GV and Menlo Ventures, with participation from Ballistic Ventures, Team8, Wing Ventures, and Shield Capital. Kevin Mandia and Ted Schlein serve on the board of directors.
