Job Summary:
As an Analysis Team Lead, you will lead a team of analysts in monitoring and analyzing online risk to provide actionable intelligence for commercial clients and civil society partners. You will oversee the production of sophisticated analytic products, help clients identify risks, and develop strategies to mitigate reputational and security threats. You will also work closely with leadership to shape Alethea’s organizational strategy, ensuring that our analysis aligns with business priorities and client needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management & Mentorship
- Coach, mentor, and train a team of entry-level to mid-level analysts and open-source investigators, emphasizing analytic rigor through creating high-quality output.
- Guide analysts in writing, briefing, and presenting data-driven insights to clients.
- Support professional growth through structured performance feedback, coaching, and career development.
- Ensure analysts stay ahead of emerging threats in the online landscape disinformation, reputational risks, and digital security.
Leadership & Organizational Development
- Collaborate with leadership to shape organizational strategy, set key priorities, and drive company initiatives.
- Ensure that analysis production is aligned with Alethea’s business objectives, client needs, and industry trends.
- Contribute to organizational development through direct team performance management, internal working groups, knowledge-sharing seminars, and cross-functional discussions.
- Uphold Alethea’s culture and growth goals by leading, mentoring, and inspiring a team of analysts.
Client Servicing & Project Management
- Lead analyst teams in identifying and assessing online threats impacting commercial brands, industries, and advocacy groups.
- Provide clients with insightful recommendations on managing reputational and security risks arising from false and misleading information.
- Oversee open-source content collection and analysis, ensuring quality control and methodological rigor.
- Ensure analytic outputs are timely, client-relevant, and actionable, helping clients and civil society partners develop effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Foster collaboration with product, engineering, sales, and client management teams to ensure work is effectively prioritized and resourced.
About You:
- Experience leading and mentoring analysis teams in security, disinformation, intelligence, or risk assessment.
- Strong expertise in open-source intelligence (OSINT), risk assessment, and analytical methodologies.
- Ability to oversee and manage complex analytic projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent writing, briefing, and presentation skills for both commercial and civil society audiences.
- Strategic problem-solving skills, with a focus on client-driven insights and actionable recommendations.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with teams in product development, sales, and client management.
- Experience working with or developing analytical platforms is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary and stock options are negotiated based on experience.
- Healthcare at the gold-tier level, dental, and vision is fully funded by the employer. 50% of dependent coverage is provided by the employer. - Flexible vacation, sick leave, including office closure between Christmas and New Year’s, and extended holidays at Thanksgiving and the 4th of July.

- Hybrid work environment, with 3 days per week required in office in Washington, D.C or New York.
The salary range for this position is $130,000 to $160,000 per year, depending on the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications. In addition to cash compensation, this role is eligible for a stock option grant. Further, we offer comprehensive benefits, including flexible PTO, health, dental and vision plans, and generous company holidays.
