Job Summary:

Alethea is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Manager, AI Engineering to lead our growing AI team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting the vision and strategy for AI across the organization, with a particular focus on developing and deploying machine learning solutions that drive revenue growth. You will lead a team of talented data scientists and machine learning engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Development and Execution: Define the roadmap for AI initiatives, aligning with the overall business goals and priorities.
  • Hands-On Technical Contribution: Remain actively involved in technical work, contributing to code reviews, architecture design, and troubleshooting complex data issues. This hands-on approach will help you stay connected to the team's day-to-day challenges and provide valuable technical leadership.
  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of machine learning models: Guide the team in building and deploying high-quality models that solve real-world problems and deliver measurable business value.
  • Drive the creation of AI-powered products: Lead the development of innovative AI products and features that generate revenue and enhance customer experiences.
  • Build and manage a high-performing AI team: Recruit, mentor, and develop a team of data scientists and machine learning engineers.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration: Encourage experimentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning within the team.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI/ML: Continuously evaluate new technologies and techniques to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of AI solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders: Clearly articulate the value and impact of AI initiatives to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of success in leading and managing AI/ML teams.
  • Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, techniques, and best practices.
  • Hands-on experience in building and deploying machine learning models in production environments.
  • Experience in developing and launching AI-powered products that generate revenue.
  • Strong understanding of data science principles and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Passion for AI and its potential to transform businesses.
  • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.


Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary and stock options are negotiated based on experience.
  • Healthcare at the gold-tier level, dental, and vision is fully funded by the employer. 50% of dependent coverage is provided by the employer. Additional benefits include employer provided life, AD&D insurance, and an Employee Assistance Program with a variety of services, including generous Mental Wellbeing support.
  • Flexible vacation, sick leave, including office closure between Christmas and New Year’s, and extended holidays at Thanksgiving and the 4th of July.
  • Employees may also participate in an Employer sponsored 401k, after their 6-month anniversary, with a 3% match. Health Savings (HSAs) and flexible spending accounts (FSAs) are also offered.
  • Hybrid work environment, with 3 days per week required in office in New York City.

The salary range for this position is $200,000 to $230,000 per year, depending on the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications. In addition to cash compensation, this role is eligible for a stock option grant. Further, we offer comprehensive benefits, including flexible PTO, health, dental and vision plans, and generous company holidays.
